The Cold Night

A rainy day it was and he didn’t feel like going outside. He liked rain but now he was not in the mood to go out and enjoy the beauty of the rain. As the rain stopped and clouds disappeared, he got up from his bed, wore his cardigan on a tee he was wearing.

He looked outside the window, lights of the city and stars were now bright and clear because of the rain wiping out all the dust from the sky. The rain drops on his studio apartment’s window glass were adding more beauty to the scene.

He went up to the rooftop of the building he was living in, watching the constellation in the night sky. It still was very cold out there. The wind blew and he felt like freezing. Something from that gust of wind attracted him. He was now enjoying the chilly evening.

After a few minutes he went downstairs into his apartment, took a bath, shaved his beard, put on the other tee and a warm over coat over the chinos with  his new pair of shoes. Put perfume and some more perfume.
He locked his room and went outside in the hallway of the building. Surprisingly he passes from the elevator and took stairs. He never did this before as he always used the elevator. Outside the building, he was now walking towards the coffee shop he liked the most, gazing here and there with the smile on his face, as he was enjoying the moment and the chilly night.

He entered the coffee shop, it was warm inside and the aroma of the coffee was appetizing. He grabbed a cup of coffee and left the counter. As he was going outside a man bumped into him, coffee spilled. As the man knew him, he was now waiting to be beaten up by him. But he smiled at him and left the coffee shop. The owner of the coffee house knew him and was surprised because he never let anybody go like this. He almost killed a guy two months before, as that guy did the same mistake like that.

Started his wandering again in the cold night on the path and now was enjoying his leftover coffee. He was so much changed now. He locked himself from a week in his apartment. He went to shock as his friend died in an accident a week ago. His friend’s last words had so much impact on him.
“This world runs on love, the life we spent is not worth living. I just realised it but I missed the boat. You can always change yourself before it’s too late. Find your love, it’s your peace. ”

He now knew that behind everything there is love. Some have love for money, some for lust and also, love for spirituality, love for family and many things. Even behind a war there is love, love for country, love for religion and most of the times it’s love for power. He was now searching the peace, humanity and tolerance.
He made it to the hill top and now was sitting and enjoying the city lights in a cold night.
